Study of the Arts is an essential component for Nurturing Thinking Skills, Creativity, the ability to express one’s self and build self confidence. The Programs for Children, New Concepts in Dance and the Arts, has various courses for children 2 1/2 years old to teens. Children learn to sing, dance, model, act and exercise in a fun and interactive experience. Students are placed in classes by age and ability and each class will work towards a final performance.

    • **Registration cancellations by phone or in writing must be received at least seven days prior to the published course start date.  Cancellation requests received before the seven-day deadline will result in fees being refunded, less a $20 administration fee per course. No refund is available when you cancel your registration within seven days of the class start date or once a course has begun.**


    Parent & Tot Song 'n' Dance (2 ½ - 4 ½ years old)
    Parent and Tot

    This course enables your child to interact with others as well as introduce them to simple songs, musical instruments, dance steps, and circle activities to develop their creativity and co-ordination through movement. There are promising results with continuous participation
    Tiny Tot Dance, Song and Modelling (3 ½ - 6 years old)

    Parent and Tot This course covers basic ballet, jazz, singing, modelling, and exercise activities. Age appropriate drama, singing and speaking in front of people are also introduced. Lessons will stimulate and develop audio visual perception and memory while improving motor coordination through movement. Your child will develop social skills while gaining a positive introduction to the performing arts.
    Children's Dance, Drama, and Modelling (6 - 12 years old)
    Parent and Tot

    This entertaining course teaches classical and lyrical ballet, jazz, modelling sequences, public speaking, exercise, drama, mime, singing and dance combinations. Choreographed and creative dance, drama, sequences with direction. Emphasis is placed on building self-confidence through the development of audio-visual perception and memory.
    F.A.M.E. (Fitness, Acting, Modelling, Entertainment) (12 - 18 years old)

    This course is designed to incorporate fitness, drama, modelling, jazz, hip hop and modern dance sequences. A great opportunity to build self-confidence, develop a positive attitude, and enhance your own creativity while interacting with others! A unique workshop with endless experiences in the Arts.
    Developing the Star Within You(4 - 6 Years Old)
    Parent and Tot

    Join in this fun educational course as you let your inner star shine bright to a new level. You will learn and develop your talents which include singing, dancing, age appropriate drama, as well as speaking in public. This will prepare you for any type of stage performance as it also enhances your own creativity and builds self confidence as you shine.
    Stage Prep! Singing, Drama & The Arts
    (7 - 11 Years Old and 12 - 18 Years Old)
    Parent and Tot

    Students will get the opportunity to develop their singing voices while incorporating drama, along with some dance and modelling sequences. This course teaches the student many essential techniques, with combinations and proper direction in a relaxed atmosphere. This will be beneficial to the student when preparing for stage performances, musicals and talent shows at school. Students will showcase their talents, designing in their indivdual and group combinations. This course will enhance the student's acting ability and creativity with emphasis on building self confidence.
    Each course is 16 weeks for $89.00. Dates and times may be adjusted. This allows flexibility to teach school day classes and special programs. Please contact us for more information

    Students Fashion Show 2007

    On May 29, 2007 St. Theresa Catholic Elementary School in St. Catharines presented the second annual Sophistication with a Flair Fashion Show, (Evening with the Arts) "Kids Helping Kids" campaign. Students ages 3 years to 21 years old presented various modelling sequences incorporated with drama and dance choreographed by Martha Lagardis of the Niagara Catholic District School Board. A spectacular backdrop accompanying classic room and table decor was created by Jack MacGregor of J&J Florists top of the hill in Fonthill. Sheer elegance was on display with fashions by Marilee's Bridal and Special Occasion in Fonthill. Stylish, classy and trendy was portrayed by the Kaleidoscope of colors and fashions by the Bay Pen Centre. Staff, students and parents joined together to make this a truly unforgettable evening that enchanted all in attendance.
